Name: Kit?
Age: Whatever you say is legal around here.
Gender: Male
Occupation: Whatever gets me a meal.
Maine. This was Maine. Maine was like North right? Really really far north. Kit didn't know what State he started in or how long ago it was. Couple of winters since he ditched that last shelter? Where the lady there started calling him Kitten cuz she said he was just a cute little thing and it kinda stuck as generic Kit. It worked.
Why did he have to go north instead of south where it was warmer? This place was freakin polar. South there were more people... people who didn't mind strangers and who threw away good shit and didn't notice if you dug through the trash. South were there were big cities where yes, there were more weirdos but it was easier to get lost amoung the other street kids as long as you avoided the johns and gangs. And the restaurantes put out the left overs and sometimes you could get a good meal and shower for just a blow job.
Maine was like empty and people had little bins that labeled their trash and they kept all the good stuff and recycled it themselves to save a buck. Good luck finding an empty can to take to the bins for cash. And if one did magically appear and worked in the machine then you couldn't go to the same machine store twice with the paper cuz they saw you and they remembered you. And when they remembered you they could report you right? Maine sucked. It was always cold and clean and organized. The complete opposite of Kit in his dirty too big jeans from two States ago and the oversized jacket pinched from that guy he bummed a ride from that wanted more than the agreed blow for a ride. He was always upfront for ped rides. Blow with rubber. No holes, no rimming and no show. If they guy washed he'd suck balls but that's it. It was always easier than offering to fix some shit for a ride. That always took forever. This asshole loaned him the jacket when he got in and well, he figured it was the best garment he had in a long while that didn't smell like urine and beer. Which was one good thing cuz he lost his gear bag and that really sucked.
But Maine was where sort of like a bug in the butt. North north north. Aways for some reason north seemed the right choice. Every bummed ride. Every lost ticket. Always North until this place. This place that sucked but lacked the need to move on. The need was to stay. Stay in this suck hole. Where hunger was constant but at least she could sleep without keeping one eye open for weirdos and the alleys didn't stink of rot and booze.
Found a good place the other night. Shed that never got used behind some old rich house in the middle of nowhere. Construction in the back so lots of other pickings. Maybe they had an odd job to be done. Not so sure they did that in this freak hole but might be worth a shot. Had to hop the fence but it was worth it the house had one of them apartments over the garage with an appartment and this morning he was able to take a shower and use the tub to clean his clothes a little. Place had a little heat too. The shed had some good tools and metal bits not locked up. He could do something with that stuff maybe take some and sell it for scrap. Maybe make for one of those vacation cabins that were empty this time of year and have a place with canned stuff for a few months. Maybe then the bug would be gone and he could go South again. This place really really sucked.
